Iceland 99

I was lucky enough to revisit Iceland in 1995 but unfortunately was only there for a couple of days and I didn’t get beyond Reykjavík (although I did get on a sightseeing flight that was awesome!)

Here are a handful of pics.

Euro Drifting Championship at Knockhill – 17 May 2009

Never been to a drift event before so went along for the morning to see what it’s about and get some shots. I wasn’t prepared for the two up format but made it more interesting to watch and a challenge to photograph! Learning experience all round and more practice required.

Also a few pics from the supporting series’, one of which was Time Attack (didn’t get a programme or schedule).

Will spend more time next time…

ACSC Sprint at Goodwood – 2 July 2005

Not as dramatic as racing but a nice selection of cars running in the sprint. More >

BTCC at Brands – 4 June 2005

These are from a BTCC practice day, definitely a bargain day out and plenty of shooting opportunities without the crowds of race day. More >

BRSCC at Brands – 9 July 2005

More track action from Brands Hatch, loads of variety on a BRSCC day.

Scottish Motor Show 2009

Parked the car, it started raining, it rained some more, it got heavier, it eased off. It got windy, it rained some more, it rained a bit more, the rain slowed, the rain got heavy again, the wind got up a bit more, the rain settled to a moderate level as did the wind. Is that the sun over there…? Nope. It rained for over two hours. Relentlessly. Wetly. Coldly. I gave up and went home.

There were cars there, they too were wet and cold.

Sorry there’s not more pics. It was wet and cold. As was I.

Iceland ‘95 (Part 2) – The Golden Circle Tour

Yay!! Part 2!

The Golden Circle Tour takes in, among other things, Gullfoss, Geysir and Þingvellir National Park. It’s a very long tour, taking a whole day but one I would recommend to anyone. If you go to Iceland – find time to see the Golden Circle.

Iceland ‘95 (Part 3) – The Mýrdalsjökull Glacier Tour

Three of four!!

The Mýrdalsjökull Glacier Tour is another long one at around 9 hours but well worth it. Unfortunately there is a lack of pictures in this section but the weather was not the best and very few of the photographs turned out.
The tour takes you along the south coast stopping at various sites eventually reaching Mýrdalsjökull and having a go on snowmobiles on the top!

Iceland ‘95 (Part 4) – Around Reykjavík

Oh no, it’s the last one from ’95 :( A couple of days were spent just strolling round Reykjavík, taking in the sights. To describe it all would take forever so these are just pics and I’m only going to say that it is a wonderful city, very clean, with lots of things to see and do, many fine restaurants and very friendly inhabitants. GO THERE!
